Hard to believe we've been in for 4 weeks now ! We're finding the home easy to live in and lovely and warm. We still haven't found a place for everything yet but on the weekend we found time to start putting things on the walls so it's feeling more like home. "Last year we met Jeff Wilson on the advice of local people, who valued his integrity and competence as builder to rebuild our leaky home.
This was the first major leaky home he had rebuilt. We thought it important to have a local builder and not someone who was too comfortable with the engineers who were supervising the rebuild. In the case of leaky homes there can be a problem if the engineer is too close to the builder. We wanted someone to challenge costs and building systems on our behalf.
Jeff, who is a solid, practical tradesman and business person went about this challenge with precision, understanding and good humour. He quickly built trust with the engineers and us. This was a complex and difficult problem requiring much paper work and forensic detail that will be used later in court. He navigated the “politics” and tensions between us the local government officials and the engineer with honesty and skill. The quality of his work was first rate. He offered alternatives on costings and fittings etc. His employees and subcontractors were top rate trades people and committed to high standards. He did an excellent job for us and we would recommend him to anyone who is seeking to build or rebuild."

“Our home in Albany was signed up with Stonewood Homes on 22 February 2011 and completed on 14 July 2011.
It’s a simple plan 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom place on a sloping section.
I had contacted Mr Andy Gray after problems with a previous builder with whom I'd signed and whose company was in liquidation. The retaining walls had been completed on the site and some Council approvals were in place. However, there were all manner of issues which needed addressing/sorting and repricing before we could (and have since) proceed successfully.
I cannot speak highly enough of the professionalism, advice, honesty and overall standard of workmanship Andy and his team have provided throughout the 'build'. Many Stonewoood features were incorporated along with their advice, knowledge of practical and cost effective methods to satisfy our wants and needs. As well, several specifics of hardware we supplied were always fitted cheerfully and willingly. With Andy's team things happen when they say they will and any problems or extra costs with variations were always discussed and agreed prior. No surprises, throughout the build each party maintained contact and it was that level of honesty I have been most grateful for. I would also say I've appreciated the importance of accessibility Andy and his team maintain. There really is always a real person to talk to at the company as messages are passed on and queries are promptly responded to.
As well, I've been impressed and most satisfied with the attention provided since our moving into the property. We were told to inform them of any problems or things we thought were going to work differently - anything really. The few minor items were quickly attended to and we are all very happy with our new home. It's not the biggest or most flamboyant in the area but we know it's the best built, it's sound, it's simply lovely, watertight and safe.

Thanks and this will be extremely helpful in that we can compare our original choice of 'blanc' with the reality of the show home colours via the colour chart we have. It was great to see the warm white / cream as we weren't sure that moving away from white would work.
All of the proportions are perfect especially the windows and I think the 1800 drop will take off now. After decades of bland I think Stonewood could go international - show the Brits how to build their hated bungalows and new builds.
The showhome has a serenity, it's spotlessly clean and having no book to sign is a bonus. We're all adults and hardsell is a turn off. The first showhome I've been in where no-one begrudged each other for being there. You and the house were in perfect harmony and we're sure that is why everyone was happy.
It's the nicest showhome we've ever seen. The formal lounge is a triumph and the colour scheme is gorgeous.

Again we had a fantastic result, form start to finish and beyond. Our thanks go to Monique for designing exactly what we wanted, achieving high specs and all within budget. Next we want to recognise John Blanken. His customer service has been 1st class. Keeping in contact, dealing with any issues and always following up to check everything is to our satisfaction. An excellent job. Also we want to acknowledge Richard Trent and his team for their workmanship and also KJ Electrical. We went along with all KJ's suggestions and he is just so spot on. We have the most beautiful lighting and power points just where they are needed. We enjoyed following the progress on Stonewood connect. It was great to be able to show friends online and they have been impressed with this facility.
There will be many people working behind the scenes that we haven't met, so a big thankyou to you all.
